Länderpokal der Schüler Kanuslalom - Haynsburg

This last weekend was the cross-state championships in slalom white-water kayak in the under 15 categories. Timmi has move up groups this year and is now in the "A" group, meaning the final group before he moves to the next under 17 slot. This "A" group is for 13 & 14 year olds so he is one of the younger ones but not the smallest by far. It was held out in Haysnburg near Leipzig which is not really around the corner but 3 or 4 hours awaySaturday was a local set of races open to all those wanting to compete and he placed in the top half of over 60 competitors but Sunday was the Champs. For this you are chosen by the State governing body who decides who gets to compete since there are only 3 slots for each state. He was best in the State in 2012 therefore that was a no brainer. His races went really well although typical for this category the courses are not too technical but more power driven. He admitted that he was really tired at the bottom third of each run and that probably cost his the finish he really wanted. He finished 11th and again best from his state. It was really a great set of runs and he was really pleased.
