Project 33 Days - Day 14
Sunday, HomeI kept away from thinking and working yesterday. It was a concentrated effort as well. I was thinking of the things I need to still complete for my course all day. Instead I did some garden work with Philip and that was much more enjoyable.Speaking of Philip, he is a bookworm. He has read 6 books this week, totaling about 1800 pages. He read The Hobbit in just over a day just yesterday. He has an amazing skill of taking in information, processing it for later retrieval. But it is often work to get him out of his reading mood and to do something else. So, working with him the garden was for the both of us a very useful distraction. But as a reward for the hard work we have 5 more books on the way from Amazon. So, today was spent for me at least doing about 7 lessons of my course. I really had fallen behind from the travels last week and really did not want to carry that burden into the new week. So, I just cancelled any activities I had hoped to do for the day and spend the afternoon and evening at my desk. It was very successful too and I already feel better with the week. The course has just two more weeks and for that I am really excited. But todays highlight was Timmi's return. After 8 days in the French Alps on the Rhone with his kayak club. He got home tonight about 8pm and was visibly happy to be home as well. His tan lines include the straps from his helmet and the neo he wears. He needs some time in the sun of Florida to even it out it. But he looks like the guy who has spent the summer at the beach. Pretty leathery too. He is full of fun stories as well as some crazy ones. "Surfing" in the waves in the boats, 3x flips before finally bailing and leaving the boat in a rough part of the course. Not parental ready stories.I am watching a recording of the Tour team time trial today. I just can't seem to keep away from it.
