Project 33 Days - Day 28

Sunday, 19 June, SömmerdaToday was the second day of the championships here in Sömmerda. Now back at home and everyone is exhausted. The day went as planned. His team of 3 paddlers were in the water just after 9am and again at 11 for their two runs. Watching the team competition is always a great treat. They all get messed up blocking each others way through the course. The better teams are either really god at following the leader or have enough practice to know how much room to leave the one ahead. Tim's team is of the second type. They improved their times 12 seconds (190 to 178s) and had fewer penalties but their position remains 25th of 46 teams. Not bad but top 50% was what they were hoping for. So, there is still room for improvement. The finals of the singles from yesterday were held in the afternoon but we left at midday. Time was enough. It was a great weekend. Tim's finale for the season so far. School ends on Wednesday and he is off with his club to the French Alps next Saturday for a week of fun and water. No more races. And for that, he is happy. I will upload some pictures from the weekend later. Three weekends away back to back and I am also tired. Off to clean the kitchen and ready the house for the new week. More tomorrow.
