My Journey to Support Local Businesses Online: Digital.Done.Right is Finally Launched
So, what is this about?
What am I trying to achieve?
Who is it for?
Prelude
Last August, I started documenting what I wanted to do with this new business. I went in a few different directions along the way. It took time, but it was good practice. This continued into November when I was in New Orleans sitting on my dad's porch with the laptop. He never asked what I was doing, but a vacation without a laptop might be more interesting.
Then came December. I had made the final adjustments to the plan and it was time to get everything ready. My website was rebuilt from scratch. The services I offer were all new and the first content had to be written. I can say that the Christmas holidays were not much fun. Well, they were fun for me because I could see the progress.
Digital.Done.Right. 2023
Finally, the day has come. I am happy to announce that the newly redesigned Digital.Done.Right. is open for business!
This has been a dream of mine for a long time and I am as nervous as I am excited. Many of you know that I have spent my career working with large, global companies helping them to manage their customer experience.
I have spent 20 years working with, inventing, and developing methods to improve people's experience on the Internet. All of that was for the "big players" and it taught me a lot. What I have also been doing for the last 10+ years is researching how people and businesses of all sizes appear and use the Internet and social media.
As I have moved away from large corporations, I have watched smaller companies struggle with the digital world. The pandemic showed me (showed us all) that your local small business is invisible on the internet.
It is much easier to place an order on a large platform than to search and find the store around the corner. The smaller, local businesses were barely present. Now I am taking all that knowledge and bringing it to the "average" person, the business owner in your neighborhood.
I believe we need to spend more time supporting our local businesses. They are the neighbors. They are investing in your city. They work hard and they need a fighting chance! I work with local businesses not only in my hometown but wherever there is a need.
Thank you to those who have supported me along the way. Yes, it took me some time to figure this out, but the time is now.
If you want, check out my new website, and if you want to be kept up to date on everything I share, sign up for my newsletter.
If nothing else, support your local businesses.
