USA 2012 - Travel to New Orleans, Part 1

Time for me to add a post here as well, since my guest posters are really busy with some computer game it seems. Today we left Orlando on our drive to New Orleans and made it to Spanish Fort, Alabama. That got us within 3 hours of New Orleans which we will complete in the morning. The 500 miles (about 800km) was enough for all of us after about 9 hours of travel we crashed a Fairfield Inn here in Spanish Fort. We've got a suite with 2 doubles and a pull out sofa for us 6 and that should be ok for a night.This is our first trip out this holiday and after 11 days in Orlando it was a good time to travel. The Boyz were all great in the car and actually all excited to get to New Orleans and see Grandmere tomorrow. PMDs (personal media devices) really make the difference nowadays. With AC power jacks in the rear of the car there were two PCs each running movies for them, I think one watched the entire Jason Bourne trilogy today as well!We gained an hour with the move here to the Central time zone but it is pretty late now. Philip is already asleep, the others still playing while we are watching the Olympic replay of the day. Today is Monday, two weeks from today we will all be back in business, at school or in the office but for now, we are just having a great time.
