Mallorca, Day 3
Sunday, 18 MarchI guess today was Sunday. Another morning in the crowd of the rush at breakfast. 100s of others trying to get in and out quickly. Looked more like a bunch of ants running around. Never saw a system at all. Ate at 8am then about 10 got ready to ride. Ernst and I were going to head to Llucmajor then to Puig Randa, the highest peak near here. We were not the only ones headed up there as well. But it was all very well controlled, 100s of cyclists all headed up then 534m, of course beginning at sea level. The last 5k are all uphill, very slow but worth the view from the top. Today was warmer than yesterday but still a very strong wind. That is ok as long as you are not in a hurry against it.
Now back in the room, showered and sitting on the bed watching ski jumping somewhere further up north reminds me that it is still winter somewhere. Two hours before dinner begins. Almost getting to the bored state which I felt would come. That will be interesting as well. I do have some books with me to read so may be time to find a nice place to sit and consume something else. With about 5 hours a day spent with biking and washing and showering there is a lot of time for other stuff.Tomorrow is day 4 and is the last day of this initial circuit. Tuesday is a rest day and I will probably head to Palma for some sightseeing. Again I will ride with Ernst, a bit further than today perhaps close to 100k but with fewer climbs. Should be a good day for sure.Stats: 3h40m, 73km, 131 avg HR, temp 22C, 680 m climbing, 2300 calories spent, PE mediumCamp Sub-TTL 11h17m, 231km, 1945m, 7850cal
