Final Race before Summer

Here I am one week before the my final "A" race in Bavaria. Part of the Bavaria Tour or Bayernrundfahrt where the pros start on Wednesday. Their finish is on Sunday in Erlangen and that is where I will be. After Frankfurt on May 1st and now Erlangen on June 1st I will be done with the competitive racing for a bit. I want to go back to having fun riding when and how far I feel. These races have a very specific training plan in order for them to be well prepared. Some days I am up at 4:30am to head out for a longer ride so that it fits with the "family planning" others are ridden after dusk. I bought a lamp for my road bike this year just because of this.So this is the last days and I am enjoying them. It is the taper before the storm. Monday was an hour, Wednesday two and a half then Saturday an easy "stretch the legs" 60 minutes. I will leave early Sunday morning without the family.Bayern Rundfahrt LinkSix months in the works. This was my initial planned race against which I started all the planning in early December. I am really excited. I can hardly believe I have made it this far with my family commitments and my work "lifestyle". This will be a special day for me.ParrotheadP.S. a late scheduled meeting for Wednesday in Frankfurt has me now planning on getting out for my 2.5hr ride at 5am. Yippee ! The first 90 minutes will be quiet on the roads.
