Home Alone?

Weird it is for sure. At least for me. Timmy and Jonni were off for 3 days of field trip with their school this week. Phil had a similar week a few weeks back. So here we are with a "single child". This is really new for us. We have always had to deal with chaos and not this. This seems almost easy, too easy.

So Monday morning we brought the 2 to school with all their gear. Planning on spending a few days away returning Wednesday afternoon. By 3pm on Monday I knew something was really different. Only one backpack, one person talking about their day, on mouth looking for an afternoon snack....

By Tuesday I was almost in a state of shock. I was missing all the chaos, all the "energy" that fills the house. Sure there were plenty of other things to distract ourselves from but the regular routine was certainly disturbed. When asking Phil if he missed his brothers, his answer was "no". Short and sweet. Well we missed the others but could understand his position - he was king, and for more than a day.

Wednesday was almost back to normal. We knew all would be home just after lunch and by 5pm all had been forgotten. The "single child" experiment was over. Kind of happy too. We like our chaos.
