Goodbye KL !
So, here it is, my last report from Kuala Lumpur. It has been the best trip but at least I was able to get myself away from the office an hour early to 'breathe' before heading to the airport. I just had a Whopper and now am sitting in Starbucks enjoying a coffee. So, am I homesick? No, not really but just tired. Work was rough. Just when I thought things might be easing off after a hard weekend of work, Monday new problems arose. They are not solved but I was able to leave them with a colleague here. Sorry for him.The Starbucks here is at KLCC. That is a large shopping center at the base of the KL Petronas Twin Towers. One can sit outside behind the towers where there is a park with water fountains and a jogging course. I don't know what a mean income might be here but for the 6 Ringits the coffee costs I can eat a whole meal. And a liter of gas is about 25 cents. But this place is still really busy. The Whopper was about the same price while a pound of coffee here at Starbucks costs 41RM. 1RM=$4 or 5€Oh well, it is my last hour and then a long trip home. The plane will be completely full as I found out. Oh swell. And the long leg from Bangkok to Frankfurt will be around 11 hours. At least I'll be home in time for breakfast tomorrow (Thursday) morning. But then I won't really unpack because I am off to Scotland on Monday. I guess since coming back from Boston and then coming here my body clock just hasn't had time to figure out where it. But I will be in Europe for a bit. Actually I hope for a few months. 3 trips to Malaysia and 2 to the U.S. this year has been enough.Signing off from here. Next stop Bangkok then Wiesbaden.
