Project 33 Days - Day 20
Monday, Zurich, FrankfurtWhat a great night sleep. The relaxing afternoon in the garden, keeping me away from the many thoughts of work seems to have really helped me to a great nights sleep. Of coursed, being awoken by the 6:40 freight train stopping outside the house was not the nicest wakeup but it was time anyway. After a quick coffee I jumped the train into Zurich. Only problem is that today has decided to be the first day of summer. I am of course suited and booted as they say and by 9 it is over 80 headed to the low 90s very quickly. A/C is not all at big here.I decided to take an early train into the city to have more time before my connection train out to the customer site. I have been to the main station a few times and I had a plan. With 30 minutes or so, I exited the train, grabbed a coffee and 2 gipfeli and headed out to the Bahnhofstrasse. I knew there were some benches there and grabbed the first one I saw. It was short but 15 minutes of the view of the masses headed into the main part of the city was just fun. Then back into the station and onto the next train. Today has two client visits planned. First one is one I have worked with for 10 months or so. Another revisit to talk about next steps etc. No prep needed there. They are always happy to see me. The second is a bank ( there are many here ) which I have not seen in over 12 years. But this time the conversation is not about the call center but about how social media might work for them. That one has me nervous. See what happens. For now, I am enjoying the moment. This is a long post. Meetings are now done and I get to fly home 2 hours early as well. The last one seemed to impress them enough to get me an invite to their board meeting in a few weeks to talk how the bank might become more social. Wow. Bullseye. On flight now and feel the tiredness. The day, always being on for over 5 hours. Plus a new subject tested for the first time. I could sleep almost now. But I will get to see the kids while awake and have breakfast with them as well tomorrow. For that I am thankful. Till tomorrow.
