Shalom, from Tel Aviv
Wow, another place on the map for me. I had never been to Israel before and suddenly had to travel at short notice to Tel Aviv. We had to save a project from certain implosion and need to get there immediately. It meant traveling out there on Saturday night since Sundays are workdays. The flight got us into the hotel at 4am and work was planned to begin at 11am. Luckily for us, Israel changed their clocks from summer time that Saturday so we got an extra hour of sleep. What timing! This was the holiest time of year there. Rosh Hashanah (New Years) was just before and Yom Kippur was right after our departure so we had to act quickly. I was there from Sunday morning till Tuesday afternoon so my impressions of Israel were very limited. Actually only the office where we spent all our time. I was surprised how many Russian immigrants there are there. Almost all of those we were working with were from some part of Russia or its former states.I hope to go back again for more time to have a chance to experience more of Israel. But the 30° and sun in October was a great start!
